Specialized digestive care for central Alabama

Dr. Hakim is board certified in gastroenterology and a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, with 45 years of experience. He graduated from Aleppo Medical School, completed his residency at Christ Hospital and Medical Center and his fellowship at Louisiana State University. He is affiliated with Citizens Baptist Medical Center and Coosa Valley Medical Center, and is fluent in English and Arabic.

Kendra is a certified physician assistant who has worked alongside Dr. Hakim at Alabama Digestive Care Center since 2012, bringing more than a decade of experience in gastroenterology and hepatology. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and a bachelor's degree in biology with honors, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and is certified by the NCCPA. She has also cared for patients in skilled rehabilitation and nursing home settings around Birmingham, and makes sure every patient and family feels informed and cared for.
